Bloom’ In Bread

This bread reminds me in looks of a bloom’ in onion, So I have called it “Bloom’ In Bread”.
It is super easy to make and has a savory cheesy taste.  It is great for a party.

1 round loaf sourdough bread
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 tsp onion powder
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 pound Monterey Jack cheese
2 tsp poppy seeds
Slice the bread in about 1″ slices in both directions, but don’t cut all the way through the bread.  Melt butter and stir in the poppy seeds, onion and garlic powders.  Place the sliced bread on a sheet of foil large enough to wrap it in later.  Slice the cheese and place in between cuts.  Spoon melted butter mixture over the bread and cheese.  Wrap in foil and place in oven.  Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.  Open foil and bake uncovered for 10 more minutes.
YUM!!!
For different tastes just add different spices. i.e. Italian, Red Robin.
It is great fresh and even good rewarmed in the microwave.
Enjoy.

  1. At first I thought this was a bloomin’ onion and was so excited to see that it was bread instead because I don’t like onions but I LOVE bread! Definitely pinning this for a future party.
