For more than 30 years, we have been purchasing our spices in bulk. It’s a great way to save money, ensure we always have what we need, and avoid constantly buying tiny jars at the grocery store. However, over time, our spice storage became an absolute disaster.

We had mismatched bottles of all shapes and sizes, some with labels so worn out that we had to guess what was inside. Finding the right spice for a recipe often meant digging through a chaotic drawer, hoping to get lucky. It was time for a change.
Creating a Plan
After taking a hard look at the mess, we decided to come up with a real solution. We researched different ways to organize spices, considering everything from racks to magnetic strips. Ultimately, we decided that uniform jars neatly arranged in our drawer would be the best solution.

Finding the Right Bottles
We found these adorable little bottles on Amazon (not an affiliate link) that fit perfectly in the drawer. They were uniform in size, making storage much more efficient, and they looked great. No more odd-sized containers rolling around!

Custom Labels
To keep everything clearly labeled, we made custom stickers using our Cricut. This way, each spice was easy to identify at a glance, and the labels wouldn’t wear off like some of our old ones had. It was a fun and creative part of the project that made a big difference in the final result.
If you want to use our labels, you can download them here. We’ve made them available as a free file so you can print and cut them yourself!
Filling the Jars
We transferred 36 different spices into the new jars. Yes, we use them all! Some spices had leftovers after filling the jars, so we set those aside to use first before opening our bulk storage again.

A few spices had to stay in their original bottles due to packaging needs or their unique storage requirements, but overall, the transformation was a huge success.
The Results
Our spice drawer is now beautifully organized, easy to navigate, and makes cooking much more enjoyable.

No more digging, guessing, or dealing with messy containers. The new system has been a game-changer, and we’re so glad we finally tackled this project. If your spice drawer is anything like ours was, I highly recommend taking the time to reorganize—it’s absolutely worth it!
