Turkey Burgers

My husband gets all the credit for this recipe.  He and I were going through a healthy meat phase a while ago and found a lot of different recipes for turkey burger. We didn’t really like any of them 100% so, John came up with his own recipe.

Turkey Burgers

1 lb lean ground turkey
1/4 lb lean ground pork
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
2 green onions, chopped
1 egg, well beaten
3 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 ground pepper
3 tbsp soy sauce
Orange Marmalade

In a blender mix green pepper, onion, egg, milk, salt, pepper, and soy sauce until smooth. Pour over bread crumbs. Let stand to soften. Mix pork and turkey, add crumb mixture. Mix well. Make into 6 – 3/4″ thick patties.  In a non-stick frying pan (electric) heat and coat pan with 1 tbsp olive. Cook patties over medium heat until done.  Brush with orange marmalade.  Serve on whole wheat bun with tomato, lettuce and onion slice. YUM!
NOTE:  You can grill them but they are very soft and have a tendency to stick and break into the flames.

  1. Your husband is brilliant! I love that this combines turkey and pork. I bet it gives it such depth of flavor that no one would miss the red meat at all. Looks fabulous! Stopping by from Two Girls and a Party 🙂
