For Christmas last year, (shows how slow I am at getting projects completed), Mary Catherine gave us adorable salt dough hand prints of her children.
Frames and Memories
At first I wasn’t sure how to display them, then John came up with the idea to hang them under a picture of the child they belong to. I found cute pictures of them at the age they were when the prints were made. Out came the box full of old frames. Between the two of us this is what we came up with.
In that box of old frames I found 2 – 5″ X 7″ oak frames that matched. I knew that I wanted black and white photos so out came the black spray paint.
Once they were painted black I thought it would be fun to paint the decorative line in the frame red. Out came the craft paint and the littlest brush that I could find.
We centered a small eye on the bottom of each frame and removed the ribbon from the hand prints. We tied each dough round to the bottom of the matching picture with a red polk-a-dot ribbon. Using a sharpie pen, I labeled and dated each and …
…this is how they look on my family room wall. I love how they turned out!
