My daughter loves banana bread, but I was getting a little tired of making the same banana bread all the time. I love my banana bread recipe, but we need something different for a change. I found a great recipe on Chef in Training’s blog. We made just a few changes to better suite us and we made these wonderful muffins. My kids inhaled them. They were mad at me when I told them the muffins were gone. We will definitely be making these again.
Chocolate Banana Muffins
1 1/4 cups mashed bananas ( approx. 3 bananas)
1/3 cup oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup chocolate chips
sugar for sprinkling on tops
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl combine bananas, oil, vanilla and egg. Sift in sugar, flour, baking cocoa, baking soda, baking powder. Stir in chocolate chips. Fill greased or lined muffin tin (lined works a little better). Sprinkle the tops with 1/2 teaspoon of sugar. Bake for 20 – 25 minutes at 350 degrees.

Yum! I am trying to find some new muffins to get my son to eat fruits and veggies, and these would be gobbled up in no time!!
It worked for my kids…they were mad when they were gone.
My son will only eat muffins for breakfast before school. These sound like something he might like. Thanks for linking up at the #HomeMatters linky.
These look wonderful and I think I have everything in the house to make them! Might be a project for this afternoon! Thanks for the recipe, and for sharing them with us at Foodie Fridays! Pinning right now! Hope to see you again tomorrow night!
Yes, yes, yes! Love banana bread anything, but add chocolate and you’ve made me one happy girl. 🙂 Thanks for linking to Show Me Saturday.

I love banana muffins and banana bread. This looks great. I can’t eat straight bananas anymore as I’m allergic, so making them into muffins or banana bread is probably the only way I can enjoy them still. Banana muffins and bread are always a hit in my house! I have used them as a yummy breakfast, or a snack to send to my kids at school. This seems like a great recipe!
