I love starting new projects, maybe that’s why I have so many unfinished… Anyways, during shop hop this year I was on a mission to buy new fabric for a specific project. I decided a few months ago that I wanted to make a Double Wedding Ring. My Grandmother made one(for my sister) and swore she would never do it again, I think that’s why I wanted to tackle this project. I had decided to paper piece the arcs of the Double Wedding Ring, using Free Spirit Fabric’s pattern. I was very successful during shop hop and came home with a bag full of fabric just waiting for me to get started.
The last few quilts I have worked on were very bright, it will be different to work with these more subdued hues. I am really excited about it though. I started cutting and printing paper foundations. At first I had a difficult time deciding what paper to use as my foundations for paper piecing. After some extensive reading online I decided to get a doodle pad from the local dollar store, cut it down and print foundations on it. Should be better than my rather thick printer paper.
All cut out and ready to go. It is going to be fun, but I have a feeling this is going to take some time to get finished. I have 98 arcs to make and my beautiful daughter does not let me sit at the sewing machine for very long before wanting to come and help or pull me away from the machine or just turning the machine off. We’ll be learning together the best ways for me to play and get things done at the same time.

Just found this on Pinterest and I want to use this same pattern. Thanks for the tidbit about the doodle pad!
