We have a smallish yard in a nice subdivision. A number of years ago my husband built garden boxes in between our house and the neighbors. We tried vegetables and they were great but decided that we wanted to grow raspberries and blackberries/marionberries. We had grown raspberries before but the others were new for us. John went online and learned about how they grow and the best way to take care of them. As you can see it worked.
As we picked them through out the season I would put them in Ziploc bags and freeze them until there are enough to make a few batches of jam.
Start by mashing and measuring the berries.
Mix berries and pectin in large sauce pan and cook according to the package instructions.
Jam is wonderful but takes a lot of sugar.
One of Autumn’s treat is fresh warm bread with
fresh warm berry jam.
YUM!!!
Check back later for bread recipe.
