I love spaghetti. It is one of the most perfect comfort foods in my book. It’s easy to make and my kids love it. As a lot you already know I’m a bit of a picky eater and sometimes the simplest recipes are my favorite. Simple as in not a lot of extra ingredients. I’m not a big fan of bottled or canned spaghetti sauce. I just don’t like their flavor, they are too sweet and taste like… well… bottled sauce.
This recipe is super easy- perfect those crazy nights when you don’t
have a lot of time.
Spaghetti Sauce
1 pound hamburger
1 – 15 oz. can Tomato Sauce
1- 1 1/2 tablespoon Italian Seasoning
1 – 1 1/2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
Brown and drain hamburger. Add tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and Parmesan Cheese. Stir together and simmer for about 10 min. (I usually make the sauce and let it simmer while the pasta cooks.)
Last year we had tomatoes in our garden. I made lots of spaghetti sauce and froze it – it was pretty good. No tomatoes this year so we use the canned sauce.
I make about 5 servings of pasta. After draining the pasta I pour in right into the sauce. I find it easier to serve spaghetti to my family from one dish.
I make this so often that I sometimes feel bad. “Spaghetti again,” I think, but no one else seems to care – so I keep making it.
Don’t forget the Parmesan cheese.
I hope you enjoy!
