This is about the time of year that I start to think about what I have to decorate for the fall holidays with and what I might want to make new. Halloween is the first up on the fall schedule and is a lot of fun to decorate for. This is a favorite that I made a few years ago from the Fons and Porter Love of Quilting September/October 2005 issue I found in my mother’ never ending stash of quilt magazines. It is called Halloween Night and you can still purchase this issue at http://www.fonsandporter.com/issues/sep_oct_2005
The hanger, that you can’t see real well in the picture, along with many other wonderful wire holders is found at Ackfeld Manufacturing http://ackfeldwire.com/ .

I love the feeling of getting one more item off the stack of unfinished projects, finished. I have had a denim and corduroy quilt top made for, Oh, I don’t know, maybe 3 years. I just cut 6 1/2″ squares out of old jeans and my scraps or corduroy and randomly sewed them together. I basted the front and back together around the outside edges and them used my bent safety pins to to hold the center together. I put it on my trusty Q-Snap quilting frame (www.qsnap.com ) and proceeded to tie my new camp quilt.
I am not a great fan of tying quilts but since it is so heavy and I have chosen to back it with yummy fleece, I did. I didn’t even put any batting in it. It is queen size and will be perfect for our family camping trip later this summer.
For my whole life, it seems like, I have been doing crafts and sewing. Making up my own pattern for this or that, if I couldn’t find one for sale retail. I made patterns for a lot of different things from Chaucer costumes in high school to wood and fabric dolls sitting on a wooden trike.
Years ago I started selling crafts because friends kept saying to me “you really should sell these” or “you should go into business”. Recently it has been “you really should make a pattern and sell it” so we (my girls and I) are. About, well less than a year ago we completed some patterns and started an Etsy Shop and here is what is new in our Etsy Shop.
