Cake Brownies

I has always been the norm to have some kind of dessert after Sunday dinner.
Even thought the children are all grown and out of the house, we still have the bachelor sons over every week to make sure they get at least one good meal a week.
Chocolate never looses it’s appeal.
So here is another family favorite and these are truly addictive.

 1/2 cup butter
2 cups granulated sugar
4 egg yolks
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 1/3 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
4 stiffly beaten egg whites
powdered sugar

Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.  Add eggs, vanilla and milk. Stir enough water in the 1/2 cup cocoa to make a thick paste. Add to the butter and sugar mixture. Sift together the dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Mix well.  Fold in egg whites. Bake in greased and floured jelly roll pan 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. While warm dust with powdered sugar.

I hope you enjoy them as much as my family.
