Soft Snickerdoodles

We have a lot of big cookie monsters in our family, (and it’s not just the grand kids) but we are also picky, we like soft cookies.  These Snickerdoodles are one of many family favorites
.
1 1/3 cups butter
1 1/3 cups brown sugar
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
5 cups flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt

Cream the butter and sugars together.  Add eggs one at a time and mix well.  Blend in vanilla.  Sift together dry ingredients.  Blend into sugar mixture and mix well.  Make cinnamon sugar by mixing 1 cup sugar with 2 Tbsp cinnamon.  Roll dough into 1-1 1/2″ balls then roll in cinnamon sugar.  Place on greased cookie sheet about 3″ apart.  Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes.

Happy baking.
