I caught the decorating bug. I’ve had it before but this time I think its a pretty serious case. My husband might have to ban me from Pinterest. I was going to paint my sons room when much to his dismay I was hit with inspiration for my room. My room was not on the agenda for some time. Mostly because my room was also the storage room for everything we didn’t know what to do with, well more about that to come.
In my madness of decorating I wanted a nice wedding picture. Do you think I could find a frame I liked? NO! So what do you do – you get creative. Instead of looking for the perfect color I looked for a perfect frame. I found a great frame at Joann’s (50% off, yah!), but it came with a hideous brown mat. I couldn’t win. So everything got painted. I’m sorry I didn’t get a before picture. I was too excited to get started. I taped the mat to try and keep the decorative detail around the inner edge. Then I lightly spray painted.
The paint looking okay, just a little darker than what I was hoping. The tape however did take off a little of the mat. So, to lighten and hide my little problems I sponge painted a little white paint over the top.
Problem solved. I love how it turned out.
I spray painted the frame Rust-oleum Heirloom White, if you were curious.
Doesn’t look great!
