We are carb junkies in our family.
5 – 6 cups flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 cups hot water (110-115 degrees)
1/3 cup sugar
2 tbsp canola oil
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp SAF yeast
In your mixer bowl stir together whole wheat flour, 1 cup four, sugar, salt and yeast. Combine hot water and oil, add slowly to flour mixture while mixer is going. Beat until smooth. Add enough of the remaining flour to form soft dough. Knead dough about 5 minutes. Remove dough from mixer. Cover and let raise until double. Punch down and divide into two balls. Place balls on greased cookie sheets and flatten to about 1 inch. Pierce loaves with fork several times forming diagonal lines. Let raise, not quit double. Bake 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. YUM!
Enjoy!

I can relate, we are carb junkies too! Especially my younger son…he would eat all bread, all the time if I let him! This looks delicious! Pinning and sharing!
We carb junkies should stick together. Thank you for stopping by. Come see us again.
My husband loves flat bread! Thanks for sharing this recipe!!
Bread of any kind is just comfort food. I hope your husband likes this one.
Pinned this to save for later. TFS
Enjoy! Thanks
Looks so good. I guess I’m gonna have to break out of my comfort zone and buy some yeast and try making homemade bread. (it really scares me :0 ) Thanks for sharing. <3 Kim
Don’t let yeast scare you. If you can buy the SAF brand yeast, it is very forgiving and you can mix it in your flour and just add the hot water. Good luck.
Looks fantastic! I love my carbs! Would love for you to come over and share at my link party. http://mommyondemand.com/create-bake-3/
Thank you for the invite, we will check it out. Come again.
This looks delicious. I make sweet breads (banana, blueberry, pumpkin, etc.) all the time but not regular ones, pinning to try out later. Thanks for sharing on the weekend re-Treat link party.
