Halloween in Wonderland

We had a Trunk-r-Treat the other night at our church. I decorated the trunk this year. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for years and I finally got around to it this year. You might be asking yourselves, “why Alice in Wonderland?” It was my daughters idea. She recently rediscovered the movie and has been watching it none stop.

How I did it?

I love my computer!

I’m not an artist or a computer genius, but I do know how to copy, paste, and enlarge. I then traced my images on good old construction paper and cut them out. I was lazy and used double sided tape to put everything together. I bought a white throw-away table cloth from Zurchers and cut it to fit my car. The door is was one of my favorite things to make. It is made from brown wrapping paper with lines drawn on. My kids and I had a great afternoon decorating the car.

I even decided to get into the fun too. I hope you can tell, I’m the Evil Queen of Hearts. I tried to talk my son into being the Mad Hatter but he wanted to be a card.
Alice’s dress is from a Simplicity pattern and the card is made of felt. My baby is our Cheshire Cat.
I thought we needed a Mad Hatter so my wonderful husband agreed to dress up with us. I tried to keep his costume very simple because this is so not his thing. His hat was the hardest thing I made because I didn’t really know what I was doing. But it turned out pretty great, if I do say so myself.
Happy Halloween!
