Fall At Our Etsy Shop

It is getting to be that time of year when I can get out my fall decor and redecorate. I love the colors, smells and the crisp evenings and mornings of Autumn.

We have a few new things in our “Etsy Shop”, just small things that can help spruce up your house for the different fall holidays.

Things for Halloween, just fall-ish or Thanksgiving and Christmas.
We have hopes that there is more to come.

This time not patterns but finished products.

Felt Easter Bunnies

We thought it would be fun to bring back Felt Easter Bunnies. Just another favorite felt project from the past that is a great gift for friends and teachers at Easter time.

They are super easy and kid friendly to make.

Materials

for one bunny

pattern

2 – 9″ X 12″ felt squares

2 – 1/2 ” white pompoms

1 – 7 mm pink pompom

2 – 12 mm wiggle eyes

1 – 20″ piece of ribbon

Erasable pen (Frixion by Pilot irons off)

Other items

Pinking shears or other sharp scissors

fabric glue or hot glue

Pins

Place the felt squares on top of each other. Trace the pattern on the top using the erasable pen. Cut along the traced line. Pin together and cut through both thicknesses at the same time. Glue about 1/4″ along the edges
leaving the space between the ears open
(I like to sew mine together, but I don’t have little children that help me).

Glue the eyes and pompoms in place.

Through the opening between the ears fill with your favorite Easter candy. Rap the piece of ribbon around the base of the ears and tie them together closing the opening.

Make a bunch of them for Easter dinner table favors.

Hanging Valentine

I wanted to make a fun, easy Valentine to hold goodies . I thought it would be fun to have it be a hanging Valentine. That way after the goodies are eaten it can be used for decoration. I had some felt left over from a Christmas project so I didn’t even have to go to the store. I love felt. It is so easy to use. I chose to sew the hearts together, but you could easily glue this Valentine together.

My kids would have loved this, but lucky me they were asleep when made this.

I had the felt hearts sewn together and the ribbons glued on, but it looked a little dull to me. I cut out my “hugs and kisses” smeared the top with hot glue and dumped a bunch of glitter on it. I think I solved the dull issue.

Materials Needed

Felt – you pick the colors

Ribbon 4 – 10″ pieces

Glitter

Glue Gun

Winter Candle Mat

I love changing the aroma in my house with the change of season. I also like to change my

“Candle Mat/ Scentsy Burner Rug”.

They brighten up my counter and are just fun.

Here is my Winter Candle Mat.

Materials

1 square of both blue and white felt
Scraps of green , red and white felt
Black, white and orange embroidery floss
Fuseable web

Bugs Needed a Home

My kids love playing with their pipe cleaner bugs. They fly and crawl them all over the house, but the other day Tyler said, “Mom, they (the bugs) need a place to live.” I was stumped. What had I started? So again we went to the craft box. Which I might add is in desperate need of a trip to the craft store. I had to find something that would pass for a house for creepy, but cute bugs. I found my felt stash and and went to work.

So again I pulled out the glue gun and scissors. First I had to make a flannel board.All you need is piece of cardboard, batting, and flannel .

Center the cardboard on the batting and start gluing. Make sure to pull the batting tight.

Then do the same with the flannel. Turn it over and you have a flannel board.

I asked my kids where, caterpillars, butterflies, and dragonflies live. This is what we came up with: apple tree, cloud, flowers, pond and lily pads.

Now the bugs have a place to live.
