Applique Pattern, It’s Free

It’s a new month, time for another Free Pattern. This time we have an Applique Pattern. In a short amount of time and for very little cost you can make this applique pattern into a great gift.

The weather is getting warmer and as a result everything starts to come alive. I love all the flowers. The trees, the bulbs popping up and the garden centers full of potential blooms for my yard. Mother’s Day is over so it’s time to think about, ” What can I get dad for Father’s Day?”

Use this free applique pattern and make that gift for dad. Sew it on an apron that he can wear to cook in or a fun tea towel to throw over his shoulder. Because it’s for dad, make one of each.

Materials needed

4 –5″ X 5″ scraps of fabric, 1 black, 1 orange, 1 gray, 1 dark red

1/4 yard fusible web

Black thread

Tea towel or apron

A few tools you might also need, scissors, pencil and iron.

Instructions

All applique patterns are already reversed. Trace all pieces to the paper side of fusible web leaving adequate space around so there is room for cutting. Cut around pieces. According to the manufacturer’s directions and with the fabric wrong side up, iron each pattern on your fabrics, paper side up. Let cool. Next cut pieces on tracing lines. A layout is part of the pattern so you can place the pieces correctly. Iron in place and applique with black thread using a zigzag or blanket stitch.  Don’t have a sewing machine? You can always stitch by hand.

We are having fun making free patterns to share. So have a look at some of our other projects.
